HEYROCCO CAP DEBUT UK TOUR WITH EXCLUSIVE XFM SESSION FOR JOHN KENNEDY ON 4TH NOVEMBER

IMG_4163_1000px

HEYROCCO came, saw and conquered on their first trip to the UK!

Not only did they play to a packed KOKO in London at the start of their debut tour – a tour that saw them playing to more sold-out venues around the UK – but they rounded it off with a return to the capital, and a session for the premier new music show on Xfm.

The session will be broadcast on 4th November 2014!

Looking every inch the rock stars that they look set to become, the HEYROCCO arrived for their Xfm X-posure session excited to meet key DJ John Kennedy, and as expected, they delivered a fabulous session.

John, who’s always a reliable musical weathervane of new talent, was hugely complimentary and supportive. We can’t wait to hear the session when it’s broadcast on 4th November!

HEY ROCCO RELEASE NEW SINGLE “MOM JEANS”;
PLUS XFM SESSION AND DEBUT UK TOUR

HEYROCCO

ASKME -singles-button-small SINGLE – Mom Jeans
LABEL – Vital Music
IMPACT DATE – 27th October 2014

HEYROCCO‘s songs cut to the heart of teenage thrills: young love, long summer days, and the little details that trigger all that emotion.

Their new single Mom Jeans encapsulates all of that – and it’s a perfect example of HEYROCCO’s brilliant balance of dark rock, short ‘n’ sweet pop tunes and young, breathless excitement.

It’s the follow-up to previous single Virgin – which was Kerrang! Track of the Week. Mom Jeans has won them radio recognition, too – they will be recording an Xfm X-posure session for tastemaker John Kennedy at the end of October as they complete their debut UK tour.

HEYROCCO are thrilling fans around the country right now, with sold out shows and a huge audience at London’s KOKO kicking off their first UK jaunt.

“…the angst-ridden grunge of Nirvana, while flecks of Pavement ensure a distinctly nostalgic flavour to these young guitar heroes.” – NME

“You know those perfect songs that soundtrack your summer of late nights, romance and hedonism? Well, HEYROCCO have just dropped one.” – Gigwise

Heyrocco’s new single launches us right into 90’s teenage movie nostalgia. Like these Southern sweethearts, we admittedly might not have been the coolest kids in high school—but at least we can pretend like we were while listening to some 90’s inspired rock and roll.” – NYLON

“… a darkly nostalgic vibe – worthy of, say, Radiohead’s much neglected ‘Pablo Honey’ full length.” – CLASH

Huw Stephens is a huge supporter of emerging talent, and has a keen eye for bands who’ll go far – so it’s another feather in HEYROCCO’s cap to have their new song Melt featured on his Radio 1 show.

As always, it’s a great show and you can hear the whole thing here: www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b04bmrb9

LABEL: Vital Music Group
IMPACT DATE: 1st Sept 2014

After their first free download, Virgin, sped to tens of thousands of plays via word-of-mouth in just a couple of weeks, HEYROCCO are stepping straight back into their new fans’ affections with their new single, Melt.

It’s another grungy and immediately catchy pop song from the South Carolina boys; it’s a wry song on a subject that… well, let’s say it’s one that many teenagers will have prematurely experienced.

And just as Virgin drew many flattering comparisons with rock giants of the early 90s – Melt shows off their ability to straddle the line between the twin thrills of killer melodies and fuzzy guitars.

Melt has been met with breathless praise from highly-respected sources:

“You know those perfect songs that soundtrack your summer of late nights, romance and hedonism? Well, HEYROCCO have just dropped one.” Gigwise

“Heyrocco’s new single launches us right into 90’s teenage movie nostalgia. Like these Southern sweethearts, we admittedly might not have been the coolest kids in high school—but at least we can pretend like we were while listening to some 90’s inspired rock and roll.” NYLON

” A darkly nostalgic vibe – worthy of, say, Radiohead’s much neglected Pablo Honey CLASH

HEYROCCO have the tunes, poise and musical chops to back up their sky-high ambition.

SOUTH CAROLINA’S HEYROCCO HAVE DEBUT SINGLE “VIRGIN” BACKED BY BOTH XFM’S JOHN KENNEDY & CLASH MAGAZINE

johnkennedy_Clash_HEYROCCO Two of the UK’s most renowned spotters of new talent, Xfm’s John Kennedy and Clash Magazine, have recognised HEYROCCO’s enormous potential and knack for writing huge, exciting rock songs.

John has made their new single, Virgin, the Xfm X-posure Big One, and Clash has premiered the single’s video.

The Xfm honour follows John’s debut play of the track, and the Clash article spots some sharp, positive comparisons with Radiohead’s debut release.

It’s just another sign that HEYROCCO are not merely another band – but ones to watch closely.

HEYROCCO’S BRILLIANT FREE DOWNLOAD & DEBUT UK TOUR

HEYROCCO

Nate Merli (vocals and guitar), Christopher Cool (bass – and yes, that’s his real name!), and Taco Cooper (drums) first got together in a parent’s garage five years ago.

They quickly knew they were onto something, and – aiming to be the biggest, loudest rock band of their generation – they were just as quick to quit school and make it happen for real.

It’s a good job they did, because from the sounds of Virgin‘s wild melodies and cloudburst choruses, it looks like their hunch was right.

HEYROCCO’s first single from their forthcoming album Teenage Movie Soundtrack (due for release in March 2015) will be available as a free download (above) or here.

Like every good rock band, this South Carolina-bred trio’s dark pop tunes are about sex, rebellion and rock ’n’ roll.

They’re reminiscent of Mudhoney, Nada Surf, Dandy Warhols and Pavement; and they’ll sit right alongside Royal Blood, Drenge, Darlia and PEACE.

HEYROCCO will take their punchy, sprawling songs on a UK tour in October 2014.
